Boredom Busters 2009
A Summer Playgroup

BOREDOM BUSTERS, a playgroup for young and their caregivers, meets weekly on Wednesdays. It’s free, fun and close to home. Come once, twice, or every time and bring a friend. A snack is provided.

HERE IS WHERE WE WILL BE MEETING:

June 24 - Memorial Soccer Field/Playground in Bolton (Wattaquadock Hill Rd. approx. ¼ mile from junction with Rt. 117). Basketball court, baseball diamond, toddler play structure, swings, jungle gym, lots of sun, lots of room to run, next door to Trinity’s restrooms! A great place to bring a remote control something! We’ll also have an obstacle course, balls, bubbles, kites, and other outdoor toys for all to share.

July 1 - Riding Toys & Outdoor Play at Trinity Church in Bolton (14 Wattaquadock Hill Rd. just off Rt. 117. 978-779-5517). We’ll block off the parking lot for lots of space so bring your favorite riding, pulling, or pushing toys and helmet. We’ll be decorating bikes and serving lemonade at our drive-up window!

July 8 - No Boredom Busters. But… if you have any children ages 5 and older, you could register for of Soccer Camp! This week long program is led by the Charlotte Eagles. For more information or to register, see the church website or call the office at 978-779-5517.

July 15 - Florence Sawyer School Playground in Bolton (Located off Rt. 117 behind Emerson School. Bear to the right to get to Florence Sawyer school and drive around back.) Your children can enjoy this unique, HUGE, wooden play structure, play in the sand box, or relax on the spacious bench in the shade.

July 29 - Water Play at Trinity Church in Bolton (14 Wattaquadock Hill Rd. just off Rt. 117. 978-779-5517.) Come chat while the little ones enjoy kiddie pools, sprinkler, slip n slide, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and water ballons. Wear or bring your swimsuit!

Aug 5 - No Boredom Busters. But… If you have any children ages 4 through junior high, plan to send them to Vacation Bible School at Trinity Church from August 3th — August 7th. This free (and fun!) program runs from 9:00 am to 12:00. Children will learn about love and forgiveness with Bible stories, skits and songs. Crafts, games and snacks will also be a part of their morning.

Other Ideas for Busting the Boredom

Wood Park - in Hudson (Just past the rotary and McDonalds in Hudson, turn off of Rt. 85 onto Park Road (that leads to the highschool)). It’s shady here, with a playground, swings, and a stage. Bring some instruments and watch the kids perform!

RT. 111 Playground – in West Acton on Rt. 111. Fun playground, small basketball court.

Jones Field - in Acton behind the train station (Martin St.). Lots of playground and room to run, a stream, and picnic tables.

Kelleher Playground - in Marlboro on Hudson St. (From Rt.85 toward Marlboro, take a right at the Navin Ice skating rink and bear left onto Hudson St. Playground on the left, parking lot on the right.) There is lots of playground to enjoy here, picnic tables, and it is right at the Rail Trail if you want to bring something to ride.

Plan to meet at the scheduled location at 10:00 AM. If it is raining in the morning, we will play together and do crafts in the spacious Nursery at Trinity Church (lower level of the main building – nice and cool). Call the church office when in doubt at 978-779-5517.
