MOVING GOD’S PEOPLE TO WHERE GOD WANTS THEM TO BE
Teacher: Chip Seymour
Location: Mezzanine

The Sunday School class on SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP is intended for Trinity’s committee heads and anyone else interested in “learning how God develops, guides, and empowers spiritual leaders( whether they are committee heads, heads of households, executives, etc.) who can in turn move people on to God’s agenda.” If you lead a committee at Trinity, you are a spiritual leader, and as a leader, your primary responsibility is the spiritual well-being of those you lead as you serve the Lord (first) and the congregation (second).

Leading a committee or family can be a frustrating, daunting and discouraging task, but “if anything can revolutionize today’s Christian leaders it is when Christians understand God’s design for spiritual leaders.” We will compare and contrast modern leadership principles with Biblical truths, provide a framework for spiritual maturity and help assure the passing of the faith to the next generation of believers and leaders.

Since we will be using Henry Blackaby’s “Spiritual Leadership- The Interactive Study” as a guide (cost 10$), please register for this class so we can acquire enough material.

1 PETER
Teacher: Matthew Brench
Location: Bell Tower

In this class we will go through Peter’s first epistle slowly in depth, exploring the many OT influences on Peter’s theological world, and drawing out several big themes. A gentle introduction to some of the Greek of the original text will be given, too, as is relevant to understanding Peter better. Approximately ten weeks will be spent on going through the epistle, and the remainder of the time drawing out themes that weave through the whole epistle such as Christian identity, suffering, and holy living.

REVELATION
Teacher: Peter Murphy
Location: BO 8A and BO 8B

This September we will resume our study of the book of Revelation starting in chapter 6. Our review of chapters 1-5 will be brief. Our approach has been to allow for lots of discussion and this semester will be no different, which means that priority will be given to the verses or chapters at hand rather than keeping pace so that we finish the entire book . Remember this book is the REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, THE REVELATION BY JESUS CHRIST AND THE REVELATION ABOUT JESUS CHRIST. Join us for an exploration and conversation of the meaning and message of this letter that is also a prophecy and an unveiling. You are welcome to attend even if you did not attend last semester.

IN OUR IMAGE/ THE FATHER’S HEART: FAMILY MINISTRIES
Teachers: Norm and Debbie Nielsen, Carl and Cathy Blatchley
Location: Fellowship Hall
This class will contain 2 sessions. The f

irst 7 weeks will be a marriage video series called In Our Image and the remainder of the semester will be a parenting video series called The Father’s Heart. Both series are done by Paul and Virginia Friesian. Discussion time will follow each video. Paul and Virginia Friesian are well known to Trinity Church. They both have their doctorates in family ministries and have spent their careers working in family counseling ministry. Married for 30 years they have 3 grown daughters.
